Hakata-dontaku

Hakata-dontaku is a festival during the Golden Week holiday in May that attracts two million visitors and fills Fukuoka City with a festive atmosphere. With many participants from overseas, Dontaku plays a role in boosting recognition of Fukuoka as an international city that has opened up to Asia.
